AI with judgment

They laid people off, hired AI, and now they're rehiring

They laid people off. They hired AI. And now they're hiring the people back.
IBM, Google, Meta, Salesforce. They cut teams because “AI does it better.” Months later, they're rehiring for the same roles.
Forrester says 55% regretted it. A third spent more on rehiring than they saved on layoffs.
Read that again.
They confused automating tasks with replacing judgment. AI drafts, sorts, summarizes. But it doesn't understand a frustrated customer. It doesn't read between the lines. It doesn't know when to break protocol because the situation calls for it.
I use AI every single day. It's the best tool I've ever come across. But a tool without someone who knows when NOT to use it is just expensive software.
The future isn't AI vs. humans. It's AI + humans who think.
